Why Mary Centre?

A generation ago, people who had a developmental disability rarely lived into their fifties. Today more are living into their seventies and even eighties. There is reason to celebrate! However it also means that these people are outliving their parent(s) and siblings and/or caregivers. Moreover, they require more care as they age. Thus older adults with a developmental disability are under-served and often marginalized.

  • About three (3) out of every hundred (100) people have some type of a developmental disability. A significant number require support with daily living.

Mary Centre is serving an increasing number of these seniors.

Vision & Mission

We promote independence and individuality and encourage community inclusion in all areas of a person’s life.

We are a community-based organization that provides support services designed to enhance the quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families.

While reflecting Catholic principles, Mary Centre is available to people of all backgrounds and religious denominations. In fact, it is our values that represent who we are and what we do.
